Biography
drh. Sukma's love for animals began in childhood, sparked by a fondness for reading animal encyclopedias and watching nature documentaries, which grew into a deep appreciation for nature and other living beings, and eventually, her decision to become a veterinarian. Today, drh. Sukma has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, veterinary dentistry, transfusion medicine, and internal medicine in dogs and cats. She has completed a range of national and international training to deepen her expertise in these areas, including European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS) Dentistry I and II in Bangkok, Thailand, the 10th Federation of Asian Small Animal Veterinary Associations (FASAVA) conference in Tokyo, and a series of anesthesia and analgesia courses covering reproductive disease, liver and kidney disease, cancer, and orthopedic procedures. This foundation allows drh. Sukma to manage complex surgical and dental procedures safely and precisely, giving pet parents confidence that their companion is receiving careful attention at every stage of care. drh. Sukma completed both her undergraduate and professional veterinary degrees at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), one of Indonesia's leading veterinary schools, graduating in 2016. After graduating, she practiced for seven years at several well known small animal clinics in the Jabodetabek area, where she honed her skills across various fields of veterinary medicine before joining Modernvet Animal Hospitals. Beyond clinical practice, drh. Sukma is also active in research and education. She has published several scientific works, including surgical case reports in the proceedings of the Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA) and the National Veterinary Scientific Congress of the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (KIVNAS PDHI) 2018, as well as several articles in ARSHI Veterinary Letters covering infection, tumor, and orthopedic surgery cases in small animals. She has also presented at the Indonesia Animal Hospital and Clinic Expo (INAHEX) and several public education webinars on pet health. Born and raised in Yogyakarta before deciding to seek experience outside her hometown, drh. Sukma now spends her free time reading, drawing, or simply spending time with her family and her two cats, Bleki and Jati.
